Bike tip – keeping a dry seat

It’s been raining a lot at home lately, and I don’t know about you, but I hate having a wet bike seat.  It soaks into my knicks, making me feel like I’ve wet my pants (and if I’m wearing knicks it makes me feel like I’m wearing a wet nappy) which then gives me chafe.  I hate it.

So, a handy little tip if it looks like rain (or if you’re touring and camping as the dew gets your seat wet), is to wrap a plastic bag around it.  Simple? Absolutely.  But it works a treat.  And, if it’s cold and wet the next morning, you can shove the plastic bag down your jersey as a wind break if you’ve forgotten your jumper.
